Event Type: Virtual
A virtual link will be communicated before the event.
For our October Statewide meeting, we encourage you to watch the documentary “Cooked: Survival by Zipcode” a documentary made by Judith Helfang (Released in 2019, the film was made while she was a “filmmaker in residence at UW Madison). During our discussion, we will explore themes related to climate change, more extreme weather patterns, and their inequitable effects on communities. We can frame our own understanding of how our current systems respond to these crises and put forward our vision of how we could respond with the resources at our disposal. We can connect with policy changers and labor advocates as well as those supporting our most vulnerable community members for our next steps. Join us!
The documentary is available on Apple TV, Amazon Prime and YouTube. You may also be able to access it through the UW library system if you are student/faculty.
If you would like help accessing the documentary (either with technology or cost), please let us know at wisconsin@poorpeoplescampaign.org.
