WI GRASSROOTS FESTIVAL CANCELED – Oct 10, Sun

Dear Friends,

This is not a message we wanted to send, but here it is.

On Oct. 1, Wisconsin Grassroots Network’s Executive Committee voted unanimously to cancel the 17th Annual Wisconsin Grassroots Festival scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 10.

Despite our best efforts, we did not have enough people registered. Speakers, breakout presenters, entertainers, students, and tablers offered their time, their effort, and their expertise. We offer them our sincere respect and deep gratitude. They deserve a larger audience than we can provide. Cancelation is the honorable thing to do.

We want to acknowledge the enthusiastic welcome from the Sun Prairie School District. Staff from Facilities & Grounds and SEI gave us their time and shared their knowledge of how best to accomplish our goal. Staff at Central Heights Middle School hosted our visits, patiently taught us what we needed to know, and did it all with warmth and good humor. Working with each of them was a real pleasure.

All payments will be refunded in full.

WGN remains fiercely committed to its mission of bringing people together to learn, to exchange ideas, and to act on behalf of issues that matter to them. Stay tuned for what comes next!
