Vigil bearing witness to the plight of the people of Gaza – Madison

Shoe Vigil on the King Street corner of the Capitol Square, Madison – Saturday, Nov. 14th, 8:30 – 11:00 am

Please consider joining members of Mennonite Action Madison by participating in a vigil bearing witness to the plight of the people of Gaza and Palestine on Saturday, November 14th at the Capitol Square farmers’ market.

The vigil event will involve 200+ pairs of shoes (many of them are children’s shoes) laid out on the walkway leading up to the State Capitol from the square.  This stunning visual representing the more than 75,000 people of Gaza who have been killed by Israeli forces in the past 3 years, garners a lot of attention from shoppers at the farmers’ market.  In addition to the shoe exhibit, we will be present with signs showing support for the people of Palestine and will engage with passers-by.
