Faith 250 – Appleton

From Wisconsin Interfaith Voter Engagement Campaign:

This Spring season has been one for the ages! Faith 250 in two cities, Faithful Voices in a Critical Hour once a month, Supreme Court overreach, rallies, protest movements, and questionable decisions from our federal administration have kept us at WIVEC riding a roller coaster of emotions.

Faith 250 and the wonderful people who have joined together bring us hope. We reached over 70 people and brought together strangers from several religious and non-religious affiliations to meet, read, and reflect upon the texts that established and affirmed American democracy. These have been wonderful evenings filled with faith, hope, community, and fellowship. People are hungry for genuine conversation about America — its values, its history, its aspirations, and its tensions. We certainly met the moment in these four meetings. It will of course take more than one evening to strengthen our bonds, fortify bridges built, and plan for the future, but Faith 250 is a great start!

The Faith250 Journey has been building toward these next celebrations on June 25 and July 7 —bringing together people from across our communities to share a collective experience of civic faith, democratic commitment, and hope. Through poetry, art, and public gathering, we affirm the values that connect us and inspire our common future.

At a time when our nation often feels divided, faith communities remain among the few places where people of different backgrounds gather regularly, seek truth together, and are reminded of the dignity of every person. That spirit is the heart of Faith250 and WIVEC, and we can’t wait to share it with our communities in Milwaukee and Appleton.
