Samer Alatout – 2024 Peacemaker of the Year

Dr. Samer Alatout, recipient of the WNPJ 2024 Peacemaker of the Year Award, is a Professor in the Dept. of Community and Environmental Sociology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. This award is given in recognition of Dr. Alatout’s consistent urging to collectively build a culture of global and environmental justice. As a Palestinian American, and through his life’s work, Dr. Alatout brings valuable witness to what is possible and encourages us to explore new ways of critically examining notions of nationalism and nations.
