UNA ‘In the News’ Monthly Discussion group – Madison

UN in the News meeting, Monday morning, Sept 14, at 10:00 am at the Sequoya library in Madison. Lots to discuss as always. As the UNGeneral Assembly gears up for open debate this September, there are lots of articles on relevance and/or demise of the UN and multilateralism in general. Our job is not to despair but to steadfastly continue to endorse the principles of the Charter that have brought relative peace and growing prosperity to the world for the last 81 years. In addition to conflicts, climate and human rights – a new area of engagement for the UN is the need for global governance of AIl. We’ll talk about that as well as update on the Ukraine, Gaza, Lebanon, Haiti. Sam Romano
