http://staging.michaelmoore.com/_images/splash/bringhome.jpgWe are writing to ask you to be a part of a campaign in Wisconsin that will help to restore the rule of law and to end the war and occupation of Iraq.  The campaign “Bring the Guard Home! It’s the Law.” is a national movement of dozens of states organizing to pass legislation to keep our National Guard from being illegally deployed. This matter is urgent and we need your help today, March 11th.  This spring the Wisconsin State Legislature will be voting on this bill.  We need people all over the state to call on their State Representatives and State Senators asking them to join as co-sponsors to this legislation, LRB 1256 (pdf).  Time is of the essence.  Please call your state legislators today! Find contact information for your state legislators at http://www.legis.wisconsin.gov/w3asp/waml/waml.aspx. To learn more, join in on events in Madison and Milwaukee April 2 - 4 : www.bringtheguardhome.org/events/wisconsin_launch

2009/03/06: Contact your national representatives about 'No Nukes'

Physicians for Social Responsibility (PSR) national staff has reported that the vote on new nuclear power plants will be this week as part of the federal climate change legislation. Please contact your membership, friends and family to encourage them to contact your WI representative NOW. Now's the time to let our reps know that - increased funds for nuclear power will not solve global warming, it is too expensive and presents a grave threat to the environment, national security and the public health, - nuclear power is neither clean nor renewable, and should not be part of the RES or the "Clean Energy Bank," and - development of a distributed electricity grid, investment in conservation & efficiency, and funding truely renewable energy sources is the only way to near-term and long-term energy independence. From: Pam Kleiss - PSR, Madison tel. 608/232-9945 www.psrwisconsin.org.
