WNPJ's Peacemaker of the Year award will be given to Dr. Samer Alatout, Professor in the Dept. of Community and Environmental Sociology at University of Wisconsin-Madison. This award is given in recognition of Dr. Alatout's consistent urging to collectively build a culture of global and environmental justice. As a Palestinian American, and through his life's work Dr. Alatout brings valuable witness to what is possible and encourages us to explore new ways of critically examining notions of nationalism and nations. He will address our Assembly.

Guest speakers will also include Indigenous Chef and Founder of Wild Bearies, Elena Terry, on healing and restoring communities by providing ancestral foods in a nurturing and nourishing way; and Alan Chavoya, Outreach Chair of the Milwaukee Alliance Against Racist and Political Repression on bringing awareness to and ending militarism on our campuses and in our communities.

Following the guest speakers there will be a break with refreshments, election of Board Members and Officers for 2025, and time for discussion.
