Weds. July 12 at 11am
301 Hyde Park Ave, Waukesha
This Wed, July 12th, the Waukesha school district will hold a public hearing at Noon to decide on the superintendent's recommendation to terminate the employment of Melissa Tempel, the first grade teacher who has been on paid administrative leave since April. On leave because she publicly voiced her concerns about the district prohibiting her students from singing "Rainbowland".
The Alliance for Education in Waukesha are asking folks to join a First Amendment-focused protest outside the admin building (301 Hyde Park Ave) starting at 11am.
For the purpose of the hearing next week, please focus on the First Amendment issue. They are asking people to wear black…to show that silencing people's first amendment hurts everyone regardless of where an individual stands on gay and other cultural issues.
