2008/09/24: Call your national representatives and tell them to oppose the U.S.-India nuclear deal.

Stop US-India Nuclear Deal
Congress may vote this week!

Earlier this month, the Bush administration bullied 45 countries into lifting a 30-year ban on nuclear trade with India - a ban put into place because of India's history of failure to comply with international treaties designed to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons.  The Bush administration has been pushing for an agreement with India to trade nuclear technology and material with India which may allow India to build more nuclear weapons.

Make 3 calls today - to  Senators Kohl and Feingold and to your Congressperson.

CALL:  202.224.3121
Tell them to oppose the U.S.-India nuclear deal.
(Refer to the Peace Action website for the latest news on this deal. www.Peace-Action.org)

The Bush team is pushing hard for Congress to approve this U.S.-India nuclear deal before the end of his term - all the while undermining international efforts to convince Iran to forgo nuclear development. Congress could vote before the end of the month on this dangerous deal with India that would undermine years of work by the global community to stop nuclear proliferation.

This is a critical time for the U.S. to take leadership in the international community for reducing nuclear arsenals - including our own. Nuclear weapons are a threat to our national security, and to global security. This dangerous deal with India does the exact opposite: violating international agreements and increasing India's capacity to produce new nuclear weapons.
There are much better ways to build strong relations with India that do not involve damaging global security and rewarding poor nuclear behavior.

Make 3 calls to tell your representatives and senators to oppose the US-India nuclear deal.

As you know, decreasing the danger from the spread of nuclear weapons is one of Peace Action's top priorities. Contact: info@peaceactionwi.org
