Please Call Today: Tell Your Senators Not to Pass the NRA's Reckless and Dangerous Bill.

The House of Representatives bowing to intense pressure from the National Rifle Association (NRA) passed H.R. 6842, the "National Capital Security and Safety Act."

Please help the people of D.C. by calling your Senator today -- tell him to vote NO on H.R. 6842!

Contact Wisconsin Senators: Herb Kohl  & Russ Feingold  at the Capitol Switchboard today at (202) 224-3121

(Action alert from Freedom States Alliance and the Coalition To Stop Gun Violence).

Last week, the House of Representatives passed a dangerous NRA backed bill, that if passed in the Senate, will repeal the District of Columbia's gun registration system and make it easier to purchase semiautomatic weapons.

H.R. 6842 now moves to the Senate. This is our last chance to stop this reckless legislation, which President Bush has indicated he is eager to sign.

HR 6842 would repeal D.C.'s handgun registration requirement, legalize assault weapons, and prohibit the D.C. Council from enacting any gun-related legislation in the future. Because D.C. lacks voting representation in Congress, this strategy allows the NRA to circumvent the strong opposition of city residents and elected officials to their legislation.

Please call the U.S. Capitol Switchboard today at (202) 224-3121 and tell your Wisconsin Senators to vote NO on H.R. 6842.
