Dane County First in the State to Be Powered by 100% Renewable Energy

In early 2023, for the first time ever, all of the electricity used in Dane County government facilities—from the Alliant Energy Center and the Dane County Regional Airport to county parks and the Henry Vilas Zoo—will come from clean solar and wind power. Dane County will be the first county in Wisconsin and just a handful in the nation to power all of its facilities with 100% renewable electricity.
“I’m proud of our accomplishments, yet this is no time to rest on our laurels. Now that we have achieved 100% renewable electricity, our next goal will be carbon neutral facilities and fleet by 2030,” Dane County Executive Parisi says.
