2022 Energy Fair - Custer WI June 24-26

Fri. June 24th – Sun. June 26th 31st Annual Midwest Renewable Energy Fair near Custer, WI!

This year’s theme: Powering the Just Energy Transition! Participatory workshops, informational booths, kids activities, and more! 

Keynote speakers include: Fri. June 24th 1:00 pm John Farrell, co-director of the Institute for Local Self-Reliance and director of Energy and Democracy Initiative - widely known as the guru of distributed energy, he has received accolades for his vivid illustrations of the economic and environmental benefits of local ownership of decentralized renewable energy. 

Fri. June 24th 5:00 pm Shimekia Nichols, Executive Director of Soulardarity and the leading organizer for the Work For Me, DTE! Campaign – developing community leadership and representing the campaign in the media. She is dedicated to growing Black leadership in environmental justice work and ensuring that the pursuit of clean energy is just, equitable, and democratic.

Sat June 25th5:00 pm Kyle Whyte, professor and organizer at the University of Michigan, who’s work focuses on the problems and possibilities indigenous peoples face regarding climate change, environmental justice, and food sovereignty. For more info, visit: https://www.theenergyfair.org/
