Dear Water Protectors and Organizational and Individual Supporters of the March Forth to Earth Day Project,

Thank you for all that you have done to make this project the success that it is. We have grown to be over 64 other groups with over 225 individual signers to our mass sign-on endorsement letter.

Please review our list of individual and organizational supporters and think about about what other groups and individuals you might like to invite to join this list.

Our eight-week project has come halfway to Earth Day. For four straight Fridays, in over 18 communities across Wisconsin, people have endured very cold, wet, and windy weather so that they could help to sound the alarm and help Wisconsin face the fact that we are in a climate emergency.

  • It is time for Governor Evers and all leaders at all levels of government to declare a climate emergency.
  • It is time to divest from the economic systems that fund the expansion of fossil fuel infrastructure.
  • It is time to honor the treaties and employ thousands of people with good paying jobs to remove the old, leaky pipelines from the treaty protected lands of the First Nations Peoples.
  • It is time for us to face the fact that the climate can’t wait. We owe it to the young and generations yet to come to do what must be done to stop and reverse the climate crisis.

Please continue to support and spread this movement by doing any number of the following:

  • Show up for one of the next four March Forth to Earth Day Actions leading up to and including Earth Day. You can likely find an action in your part of Wisconsin on this schedule.
  • Help to start a new March Forth to Earth Day Action somewhere. All you need are a few friends, some signs, and a place to meet at either noon or 5:00pm on an upcoming Friday through Earth Day.
  • Help to stop the proposed Line 5 expansion project. Send a comment to the WI DNR by going to this site. It will only take a moment. Deadline for submitting comments is April 15th.
  • Order postcards to send to the WI DNR. We send them to you, you get your people to sign them and then you can send them in a bunch to the DNR. (We can help with postage if you need it.) Order postcards here.

Save the Date: May 5th - In Superior, WI.

A note to share or add to email signatures. Feel free to modify it to make it your own:

Please join me in signing on to this endorsement letter supporting the March Forth to Earth Day project. Groups can cosponsor this project by going here. Signing and sharing this “call to action'' will result in dozens of climate actions around Wisconsin on the remaining Fridays between now and Earth Day (Apr. 22). Please help to make this project a success!

Water is Life!  *  Honor Treaties!  *  Stop Line 5!  *  You can’t Drink Oil!

Here is the lInk for our virtual gatherings. We hope to use it to link about 20 In-person gatherings throughout Wisconsin to many other people who won’t be able to join in person:

A call for bold and decisive actions, including but not limited to,

Stopping Line 5.  More information about Line 5 can be found on this frequently updated flyer:

March Forth to Earth Day - 8 straight weeks of Friday actions, all over Wisconsin, calling for climate justice. We will be gathering safely outdoors to sound the alarm for climate sanity and in solidarity with our Indigenous neighbors who are leading the fight to stop the expansion and reroute of the Enbridge Line 5 tar sands pipeline.

Note: If you live in the Fond du Lac area, join other community members participating in a March Forth to Earth Day rally, organized by members of Open Circle UU Fellowship. They meet on the corners of S. Main and Pioneer Streets every Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 pm now until April 22nd.

For more information on the March Forth to Earth Day project, CLICK HERE.

Here is the Zoom Link that you can use to either bring your action together with many of the others, or to join the actions remotely from wherever you are in the world. We will be using it at both noon and 5pm CT

This pipeline has been leaking toxic tar sand oil and other chemical compounds into the land and water of many of Wisconsin’s First Nations for decades.

Furthermore, If we let the world continue to burn the oil that Enbridge wants to continue passing through this pipeline, our children will not inherit a livable planet.

Find a Friday March Forth to Earth Day action in your part of Wisconsin by going here:

If you can’t join one of these, you can join the virtual gathering that will attempt to connect all of the in-person gatherings and make them accessible to people who can’t attend the in-person gatherings.

The in-person outdoor gatherings are happening in over 20 communities around Wisconsin, on all 8 Fridays from tomorrow, March 4th, to Earth Day (April 22) at both 12:00 noon and 5:00 pm. Thus there will be 16 virtual gatherings linking dozens of in-person gatherings over these eight weeks.

To register for a link to the virtual gatherings, fill out this form: A link for these gatherings will be sent to the email address that you provide on both Thursday night before 10pm and Friday morning by 11:30am each week.

Though many of these in-person gatherings will be small in attendance, we remember what Greta Thunberg started with her solitary Friday climate strikes on the steps of the Swedish Parliament.

We are gaining momentum and making history! 2022 will be the year that a major Enbridge pipeline project will be stopped in Wisconsin. Be a part of this history. Help the Treaty Rights and Climate Justice movements to win a major battle against the fossil fuel extraction industry.
