Rally for Fair Maps - statewide Jan 21

Event Dates:
01/21/22

Rally for Fair Maps on January 21!

On Friday, Jan. 21 - at noon at 16 courthouses around the state, Wisconsinites will be rallying to demand fair maps.

We’re meeting at courthouses to spotlight the fact that the Wisconsin Supreme Court is in the process of choosing a new redistricting map, to decry the ruling by that Court that the maps should adhere to the rigged maps of 2011, with the “least changes” possible, and to demand that the Court produce a fair map, not one that cements Republicans in power for another decade.

“The people of Wisconsin will not stand for another decade of gerrymandered maps and are demanding that the majority on the State Supreme Court follow the law, not any political party’s marching orders,” says Carlene Bechen, the organizing director for the Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition.

The rallies will last for a half hour, and the weather looks good, so please attend outside the courthouse in one of the following locales:

Appleton

Ashland

Dodgeville (Matt Rothschild will be speaking here)

Eagle River

Eau Claire

Green Bay

La Crosse

Madison  (Bonnie Margulis speaking - WI Faith Voices for Justice)

Menomonee Falls/Germantown

Milwaukee (Iuscely Flores will be speaking here)

Port Washington

Racine

River Falls

Stevens Point

Wausau

Whitewater

See them all at  https://www.fairmapswi.com/janrally

Let’s turn out in big numbers and show the Wisconsin Supreme Court that we won’t put up with another rigging of our maps.

We demand fair courts, fair maps, and fair representation.

Please contact Carlene Bechen at carlene@fairmapswi.com with any questions.
