Event Dates:

Cuba: Confronting COVID and the US Blockade

A report back direct from two weeks in Cuba

A Zoom presentation for Wisconsin

Tuesday, October 12th 7 pm CT

"On July 11 after 60 years of US economic war and a pandemic that cut off tourist income, some anti-government demonstrations took place in Cuba. This led to a massive barrage of distortions and lies by the US media, including portrayals of much larger pro-government counter-demonstrations as anti-government protests. There even were calls by people like the mayor of Miami for US military intervention. Join us for a different point of view on Cuba and its relations with the US.

For 29 years IFCO/Pastors for Peace has been sending friendshipment caravans to Cuba to show solidarity from people in the US against the 60+ years of US aggression against Cuba, including the US economic blockade. They are going again in November, and will be taking medical aid for Cuba with them."

Gail Walker Executive Director of IFCO/Pastors for Peace

During her 15 years at IFCO she led a number of delegations to Central America and Cuba and staffed countless Friendshipment Caravans.  Under her direction IFCO continues to organize Friendshipment Caravans and educational delegations to Cuba. IFCO also continues to facilitate the process of hundreds of US students to study medicine in Cuba under full scholarship and to expand its support for grassroots organizations working for social justice.
