Fall Assembly Success, Video Links & Ways to Get More Involved

Thanks for the robust crowd at our 25th anniversary Fall Assembly! After a breif business meeting where the new board and the 2017 budget were approved, attendees heard a great panel discussion facilitated by board member Jessica Williams. The panel highlighted work that WNPJ and member groups have done with anti-war/pro-peace, immigrant rights, mining, race-based native mascots, and racial justice work. All of the panelists have years of experience in their field: Carlos Miranda, Barb Munson, Pat Popple, Bonnie Block and Z! Haukeness.

Steve Braunginn gave a moving speech which was captured on video by John Quinlan, who also made a film documenting WNPJ history.

If you want to get more involved with WNPJ:

1) Join our elders council, a group of people who have formerly been staff, volunteers, members, or board members who will gather together periodically to give feedback and direction on the work of WNPJ.
2) Host a living room conversation about the vision for Black Lives policy platform as part of WNPJ's Neighborhoods for Racial Justice project.
3) Sign up for the Racial Justice Tipping Point if you haven't yet.
4) Join one of our committees (fundraising, events, communications etc) or help re-launch one of our workgroups (anti-incarceration, anti-war/pro peace, environmental, immigrant rights).

Please contact zh@wnpj.org if you can contribute time and energy.

We look forward to another great 25 years. We are so grateful for your support. Having a network that is funded primarily on donations from it's members is an incredible thing. Make your monetary donation here
