Public Hearing - Richfield Dairy CAFO Permit Renewal

Event Dates: 

Midwest Environmental Advocates filed a lawsuit on behalf of citizens in Kewaunee County who are defending waste discharge permit conditions on one of many large CAFOs in the area.  These simple monitoring conditions were imposed by an administrative law judge, but were overruled nearly a year later by DNR Secretary Stepp.  A circuit court said this summer that Stepp was procedurally out of line and that the conditions were permissible, but the DNR and CAFO appealed.

Vigil Against Drones at Volk Field

On June 11 between 5,000-7,000 people formed a human chain around a US air base in western Germany to protest the murders of thousands of innocent people by drone attacks.  At Ramstein air base information is relayed between operators in the US and unmanned drone aircraft on missions over Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Syria and other places.
