WESTPORT — “Thoroughly modern monastics” is how the new Holy Wisdom Monastery has been described — a structure that could rival the Aldo Leopold Legacy Center in Baraboo for the title of greenest building in the country.
The graceful sweep of the new Holy Wisdom Monastery building descends to what will be a prairie at its town of Westport location. The new building includes an assembly room for services, a dining and gathering room that seats 300, a kitchen, offices and library. (Craig Schreiner -- State Journal)

Sen. Russ Feingold called Monday for a flexible timeline for withdrawing U.S. troops from Afghanistan, saying the military effort there has lost focus.
Feingold, D-Wis., who strongly supported American military intervention in Afghanistan after the Sept. 11 attacks, said for the first time that he is not convinced the U.S. is on the right path. Story.
