Helen Caldicott, writing in an online Australian opinion forum on "The medical and economic costs of nuclear power" quotes someone working closely with WNPJ on energy issues:
Jennifer Nordstrom, co-ordinator of the Carbon-Free Nuclear-Free project has noted “Telling states to build new nuclear plants to combat global warming is like telling a patient to smoke to lose weight.”
Helen Caldicott is the founder of Physicians for Social Responsibility and has dedicated her life to educating the public about nuclear dangers. Jennifer Nordstrom, a Racine native now with the Institute for Energy and Environmental Research, is currently in Wisconsin coordinating the state's Carbon Free Nuclear Free campaign as well as the CFNF national campaign. She will be a panelist at WNPJ's Fall Assembly in Madison on Oct. 3, with the theme, "Connecting the Dots..."
