The Federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP, aka food stamps) is one of the most successful anti-poverty programs in the country.  SNAP provides food assistance to millions of hungry Americans. 
The Farm Bill (HR 2) will make it harder for states to exempt some adults from the already harsh time-limits to receive SNAP if not working or in a training program.  The fact is the majority of SNAP recipients are working, and those who are not are mostly elderly, disabled, students, or caretakers

A Rally for a Coal Free Community: For Kids, Climate and Health

It is time for Madison to pave the way and become a coal-free community. Right now, our “community energy company” MGE is 63% coal-powered. This impacts the air quality for all Wisconsinites and exacerbates climate change. Our energy is having a direct negative health impact on the families, and especially the children, living near the coal plants in Oak Creek and Portage.

Could Wisconsin get ANOTHER tar sands pipeline?
