Minimum Qualifications:
1. Associate degree in human services, social work, or related field.
2. Social worker, Advanced Practice Social Worker, or Professional Counselor license preferred.
3. Two (2) years cognitive-based counseling/group facilitation experience.
4. Two (2) years experience providing domestic violence intervention services to offenders.
5. One (1) year experience providing services to individuals from various racial, religious, and ethnic backgrounds, as well as people with disabilities.
6. Completed formalized Domestic Abuse Training Program, Clinical Education, and Cognitive-Behavioral Training (64 hours minimum).*
7. Willing to participate in a minimum of 28 hours of continuing education per year.
8. Good organizational skills and detail orientated.
9. Ability to enforce rules and set disciplinary actions.
10. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
11. Must be computer proficient in word processing, email, and internet.
12. Ability to make good judgments in routine and emergency situations.
13. Ability to work well with limited direct supervision.

This position is responsible for Domestic Violence Intervention Counseling and Group Facilitation. This person is responsible for maintaining his/her appropriate credentials and/or certifications. This position works with the DCC (Department of Community Corrections) for client referrals in providing group services, and discharge recommendations. This position must maintain strict confidentiality of all agency, office and client related information. Duties include receiving referrals for group participation from the DCC, completing intake assessments and treatment plans, ensuring all client paperwork is properly completed, preparing and maintaining client files, ensuring minimum and maximum group participant numbers are met, facilitating Domestic Violence Intervention Groups.

Note: Any group facilitator and/or co-facilitator (including back-up staff) who have personally experienced problems with domestic violence must have successfully completed a domestic violence program, must have two years of violence free behavior, and must have a sober lifestyle. The group facilitator and co-facilitator must not currently be on supervision with the DOC.

* 20 hours of Domestic Violence Dynamics, 20 hours of Clinical Training or equivalent education (Social worker, psychologist, or relevant degree), 24 hours of Cognitive Based Programming
