The Wisconsin Council of the Blind and Visually Impaired has an opening for a Grant Proposal Writer in Madison, WI.

The Grant Proposal Writer works with the Fund Development department to locate, research and write grant proposals for government, community, project and business development programs. This person will also be responsible for obtaining business sponsorships for programs and events of the Council. Working as an independent contractor, this position will require a time commitment of 15 hours/week or 60 hours/month.

Qualifications include a combination of education and experience equivalent to completion of a bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years experience in grant research and proposal writing. Strong organizational and time management skills. Demonstrated exceptional communication skills, including written and oral communication. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, e-mail, social media and internet applications and research. Team player with the ability to build and maintain professional working relationships. Limited travel in Wisconsin, as needed.
