Part-Time Development Director - Volunteer Missionary Movement

Responsibilities:

  • Create, oversee and monitor annual fund development plan.
  • Oversee and facilitate all grant writing activities including prospect identification and research, letters of inquiry, applications and supplemental materials.
  • Maintain grant calendar and prepare reports for foundations, Board & committees.
  • Coordinate annual mission appeals in Catholic dioceses across the U.S.
  • Research and solicit potential parish social outreach contacts.
  • Coordinate quarterly direct mail campaigns.
  • Utilize organization’s media for public image and solicitation.
  • Engage in regular communication with and develop fundraising and public relation events for current donors and membership base.
  • Design major donor cultivation strategies and materials; initiate, develop and deepen relationships with major donors.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field with at least five years of professional fundraising experience for a non-profit organization.
  • Effective communicator.
  • Ability to write clearly and persuasively to raise funds and awareness for nonprofit organizations.
  • Must possess excellent public speaking skills and be comfortable in both a large group setting and one-one-one.
  • Ability to work independently and interact well with VMM-USA’s staff, board of directors, missioners, donors, and members to increase revenues and awareness.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office required, as well as previous experience working in fundraising software.
  • Bi-lingual a plus.
  • Knowledge of faith-based fundraising and stewardship also helpful.
  • Be able to work independently, prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Be a proficient researcher.
