TIME: Noon to 1:30pm

WHERE: Bridge View Park MAP – Immediately North of the Mackinac Bridge near St. Ignace, MI

WHY: To prevent a disastrous spill from the aging oil pipelines that run beneath the Straits of Mackinac, owned and operated by a company that has seen over 800 pipeline spills on their network of piplelines since 1999. Inspired by the report from National Wildlife Federation: Sunken Hazard – Aging Oil Pipelines Beneath the Straits of Mackinac an Ever-Present Threat to the Great Lakes

WHAT IS HAPPENING AT THE RALLY?: There will be music (Seth & May, Lake Effect, and more), a series of compelling speakers including keynote speaker Bill McKibben, and the news media will be there to capture it all. You’re invited to stay after the rally to enjoy your picnic lunch, connect with others, and enjoy the beautiful Great Lakes! You may even see the winners of the Chicago to Mackinac Sailboat race as they sail through the Straits!

HOW DO I GET THERE?: Make the drive to the event in your own car, ride with friends, or sign up for a rideshare to give or get a ride. A number of buses from various cities in the midwest are also being organized.
