Global Warming:  WNPJ member Eric Hanson compares today's efforts to earlier conservation movements. "Conservation, whether the relatively complex notions of catastrophic global climate change or the familiar concepts of contour plowing or catch and release fishing, boils down to the common-sense goodness of one theme: What we have today we also want to be here for tomorrow."  Read his article here. Corruption in politics:  Mike McCabe, executive director of the Wisconsin Democracy Campaign, a WNPJ member group, argues that in its final stages, corruption "produces a system so rank, so putrid, that it falls under its own weight." Read his article here. The Capital Times, 4/12/13.

Immigration Reform:  Liz Nunez, a volunteer with the Workers' Rights Center, a WNPJ member group, was quoted in an article on demands for immigration reform. "It's not just undocumented people, citizens are saying immigrants deserve an opportunity to make a better life - it's the whole country." Voces de la Frontera, another WNPJ member group, and the Workers' Rights Center helped people from Wisconsin attend the Rally for Citizenship in Washington DC. Read the article here. Madison  Transit System:  Madison is considering a new bus rapid transit (BRT) system to increase capacity and efficiency for the Madison Metro Transit. Madison Area Bus Advocates, a WNPJ member group, sees positive points in the plan but wants to ensure that current services would not be undermined. Read the article here.
