Schedule:

  • 1 to 4:30 pm - WNPJ assembly, featuring special guest Mr. Pardeep Kaleka of the Sikh Temple of Wisconsin, in Oak Creek, reflecting on peacemaking; and presentations on challenging runaway war spending (led by Peace Action), high-voltage transmission lines (led by SOUL of the Kicakapoo) and gun violence (led by the WI Anti-Violence Effort), including breakout sessions on how to move these issues in your community.
  • 5 to 7 pm - Awards reception, featuring live music by singer / songwriter Rob Hansen and Irish traditional duo Kristina Paris and Amy Otis-Wilborn, refreshments and truly inspiring grassroots activists!  We will honor WNPJ Peacemakers of the Year the Autonomous Solidarity Organization (youth), the Chair of the Bad River Tribe of Ojibwe Indians Mike Wiggins Jr. (adult), and Mary Jo Berner (senior); the inaugural winner of the Dennis Bergren LGBT Advocacy Award, Kristina “kiki” Kosnick; and our Lifetime Achievement Award winners, Rev. Joe and Joyce Ellwanger (pictured, right).  Our emcee is award-winning journalist Joel McNally.

FROM THE WEST: Interstate 94 East. Take exit 310B onto I-43 toward Green Bay.
Take LOCUST STREET exit (Exit 74) Turn right onto Locust, go 1 mile
Turn left onto NORTH HUMBOLDT BLVD, then 3rd right onto AUER AVENUE (JUST PAST BURLEIGH)
Take second left onto GORDON PLACE. Friends Meeting House is at 3224 N Gordon Place

 

FROM THE NORTH: Interstate 43 south toward Milwaukee
Take LOCUST STREET exit (Exit 74) Turn left onto Locust, go 1 mile
Turn left onto NORTH HUMBOLDT BLVD, then 3rd right onto AUER AVENUE (JUST PAST BURLEIGH)
Take second left onto GORDON PLACE. Friends Meeting House is at 3224 N Gordon Place

 

Please park in the school parking lot (on the south side of Auer, just before you turn onto Gordon Place) if you can, to reserve the small Meetinghouse parking area for those with limited mobility.
