Despite considerable opposition, the Wisconsin DNR approved Army plans for a new public water system near the old Badger Ammunition Plant, according to the Wisconsin State Journal. Among the citizens who expressed concerns was Laura Olah, exective director of the WNPJ member group Citizens for Safe Water Around Badger. Olah was particularly upset with changes to the current Badger Restoration Advisory Board. "Current board members, including local government and residents who live in the path of the contamination, will have to re-apply for a position on the Army's newly formed board.
