Job Opening: LTE Youth Organizer


40 Hrs a week $14.42 an hour, plus benefits. 



Knowledge of Spanish and English language (written & verbal)

Knowledge of Organization & Mission

Experience organizing with youth (group facilitation and group leader)

Basic knowledge of community organizing

Knowledge and experience with computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Knowledge and experience with social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter

Ability to work independently

Ability to do weekly evening meetings and some weekend events

Driver’s License and Auto insurance required, need car for transportation


Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain communication with national United We DREAM network

Maintain existing youth chapters and recruit new members

Ensure that org. member structure and process is followed (membership forms, dues, agendas, meetings, etc.)

Maintain membership information updated.

Engage youth and teacher advisors in current campaigns: Comprehensive Immigration Reform (CIR), Education Rights and DREAM Act, Drivers Licenses, non –partisan Get Out The Vote (GOTV).

Provide/coordinate trainings for youth: annual youth retreat, VF annual meeting, national convenings  

Direct Supervisor – Christine Neumann Ortiz, executive director of Voces de la Frontera


Position will start June 1st, 2010.  Will train for two months with current youth organizer and take over position in August of 2010.
