Four Wisconsin Representatives say "no" to war funding
A bipartisan group of four Wisconsin Representatives voted "no" to a bill for more than $80 billion for the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Appleton's Steve Kagen (left) was joined by Democrat Tammy Baldwin and Republicans F. James Sensenbrenner and Tom Petri in voting "no." Kagen is quickly becoming one of the strongest antiwar voices in the new Congress, having been one of a handful of Representatives who had earlier signed on to a letter challenging President Obama's plans for military escalation in Afghanistan. Milwaukee's Gwen Moore took a step backward, voting "yes" for war funding, after consistently voting against the Bush administration's war-funding requests.
