Action Alert 2: What Should We Say To A New President? - Racine
Presenter John Nichols, a native of Union Grove, WI, is a nation-wide journalist, author, political correspondent for The Nation magazine, and associate editor of The Capital Times. Presidential elections are America's greatest political theater. But when they are done, says John Nichols, we citizens have to get serious about making things happen. America faces profound challenges (climate change, poverty amid plenty, racial divisions, and a penchant toward expensive and counterproductive militarism). We need to make some changes. But those changes will only happen if Americans "stay political" after the presidential election and make real demands on our new president.
Take Action: Tuesday, February 21, 6:30-8:30pm. Siena Retreat Center, 5637 Erie St., Racine, $10 for the evening or $35 for the series.

Action Alert 6: Stand for Peace Petition
Will you stand for peace? A petition to the organizers of the April 29 People's Climate March
Your website at proposes a march on Washington on April 29, 2017, to "unite all our movements" for "communities," "climate," "safety," "health," "the rights of people of color, workers, indigenous people, immigrants, women, LGBTQIA, young people," and a much longer list . . . but not peace. We wish to make you aware that approximately half of federal discretionary spending is going into wars and war preparation, and that this institution constitutes our single biggest destroyer of the environment. Will you please add "peace" to the list of things you are marching for? If you will, it will become a list of things that WE are marching for, as we will join you.
Take Action: Click here to add your name to the above petition before we deliver it.
