Action Alert 1: Peace Wreath Workshops - Madison
Background: Show your commitment to peace at the holidays while supporting the Wisconsin Network for Peace and Justice! Join WNPJ and create your own evergreen peace wreath using a variety of fresh, fragrant locally-collected greens, cones, berries, and dried flowers. Suggested donation for the workshop is $50 - $100 per person. Any donation is appreciated, and none is required. We will supply all materials, including extras to take with you to make a second wreath if you’d like.

Action Alert 2: An Evening with Laila El-Haddad - Madison
Background: Laila El-Haddad is a talented blogger, political analyst, engaging public speaker, and parent-of-three from Gaza City. She is the author of Gaza Mom: Palestine, Politics, Parenting, and Everything In Between (2010); the co-editor of the anthology Gaza Unsilenced (2015); and co-author of The Gaza Kitchen: A Palestinian Culinary Journey (2nd Ed. 2016).
Take Action:Tuesday, November 29, 2016, The Crossing, 1127 University Avenue, Madison. 4:30 p.m. - A Conversation with Laila El-Haddad based on topics raised in her book, Gaza Mom. 6 p.m. - Reflections by Laila El-Haddad on her book The Gaza Kitchen, followed by a short cooking demonstration and a potluck social featuring samples of Palestinian food, including dishes inspired by recipes from the book.
Note: RSVP's are encouraged for this part of the evening; send to by Nov. 22 if possible. Please bring a dish to pass if you can. If you are interested in trying a recipe from the book, include that in your RSVP; we can either get you a recipe, or we do have books available for advance purchase ($30).

Action Alert 3: Arrive Together: Building a 21st Century Transportation System for Wisconsin - Milwaukee
Background: If you're asking what you can do to bring more justice, equity and peace to our communities, here is a way for you to make a difference!
WISDOM congregations will gather with members of partner organizations across the state of Wisconsin including Sierra Club, Thousand Friends, Wisconsin Green Muslims, and WISPRG, to host a statewide summit about transportation. There is a $10 charge but scholarships are available. To access the scholarship, type in the promotional code TRANSIT when you register online. Carpools are being arranged now. Drivers are encouraged to contact your organizer to volunteer. Buses are being arranged from Madison and Waukesha.
